Martial Arts develops Discipline

Martial Arts is more than just punching and kicking. Some parents may think that martial arts promotes aggression and violence. In fact, the opposite is true. Martial arts teaches self-discipline and socialization skills. Students are required to answer “yes, sir” or “No. sir”, “Yes ma’am” or “No Ma’am”. They bow to each other, as well as instructors. This emphasizes respect for others. Many parents with children with ADD or ADHD found that the discipline and structure helped their child develop focus and concentration.

Adults also find that martial arts training helps improve personal discipline. As adults, we sometimes develop habits that are not beneficial to us. Martial arts can help break bad habits (such as a sedentary lifestyle), and develop good habits. Sometimes this can be very difficult, but with hard work and persistence they can succeed.
At ATA Martial Arts, we provide quality training in a supportive atmosphere. Every student is important to us. Nothing gives us greater pleasure than to see our students conquer obstacles and achieve goals. We are dedicated to helping everyone who walks into our school to someday become a black belt.

Founded in 1991 by Sr Master Gerald Dunn- 7th degree Black Belt and Sr Master instructor, ATA Martial Arts has been helping children of all ages develop the critical building blocks of discipline and confidence to succeed in school and prosper in their adult life.
